i am almost at the end of my one-month long residency at offthemapgallery. the space is an incredibly ambiguous character. it is permeable to the weather and therefore very real -sometimes painfully-. it is owned and it has neighbours. it has so much history that it is hard to see it in the present........ it is endlessly talking to me and challenging me, in a lot of unexpected ways...... i have felt rainy sadness, beautiful oily pelvic exhaustion, scary liquid draining, deep solid black grounding, transparent fear, nostalgia, soft and gentle internal overall surgery, skeletal clarity, explosive burning containment..... and my mother and dead bodies a lot. and i have had to bring objects in there.......
tomorrow and the days after i will offer a continuation of the work i have doing during the month. each night will be different. i hope you can come.
